The first thing you should know about us is our name: Computer Monkeys.
How did we come up with a name like this? Back in 1996, we worked at various companies, some computer-related, some just “Joe jobs.” In all cases, we were confronted with computer and technology issues. This being the dawn of a new Internet age, we wanted to help. Hence the first part of our name: Computer.
We like monkeys.
Hence, Computer Monkeys.
We found in our dealings with technology companies like retail stores, technology service companies, and the like, that none of them offered the specialized help and training that the home and small business user needed.
There simply weren’t any offerings from the big box stores or the computer consultants that would help an individual user or small business buy a computer, build a network, learn how to use her computer and all the software out there in the market place.
There were many choices. Too many, in fact. What we decided to do was become “computer consultants” and help our fellow net citizens get on the technology bus and stay on for a great ride.
Computers, networks, and other technology devices like digital cameras and mp3 players have given us gifts that we should all be able to enjoy. But the technology sometimes is too complex or cumbersome.
We need tools and learning resources to enable technology to serve us rather than us serving it.
That’s our mission, then: To help you get more from the technology that you choose to use. Whether it be the newest, fastest CPU, to a digital SLR, to the latest offering from Apple’s iPod unit, we’re here to help.
If you need specialized assistance, please use our contact form and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible with some help.
We hope you’ve learned a little about us and what we aim to do.
