Build A Computer: Choosing the Right Components for Your Needs

Buy or Build? How to Build A Computer

Many of us buy a computer, but you will get no greater joy out of computing than if you build a computer yourself, using the computer components, peripherals, and software that fit your needs.

There are numerous benefits to buying a computer from a retail store: Pre-configured computers are inexpensive, they offer high-value components that if purchased separately would cost hundreds of dollars more, and they fit the masses pretty well.

But you’re not one of them. You never have been. You’re special. And you have special needs.

You may not want a 49-in-1 card reader or an HD-DVD player (which are now defunct for all intents and purposes).

If you assemble a computer with the specific components you pick that serve a purpose that you need, then you’re getting the most value out of the dollars you spend. You’re getting EXACTLY what you want; nothing more, nothing less.

There is great satisfaction that can be derived from a Do-It-Yourself computer build. It’s like planting a garden, caring for it, watching it grow, and then getting to eat the products you made (well, with a little help from Mother Nature).

The links below will take you to several pages that show you how to put together a computer from scratch that suits your particular needs: Effectively, inexpensively, and with little hassle and trouble.
