How To Buy a Monitor

How to Buy a Computer Monitor

Choosing a monitor is an important consideration in putting together a computer system. Choosing the wrong one, for example, could cause eyestrain, headaches, or fatigue, causing you to use your computer system much less frequently than you might like. Think of all the money you spent! Don’t let that money go wasted just because you got a monitor that didn’t suit you and your needs.

The “sweet spot” in monitors these days, is 19 inches (diagonally measured, just like televisions) and of the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) variety.

LCD monitors are much easier on the eyes than their old CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) grandfathers. They’re also easier on the arms, for they weigh a fraction of their same-sized CRT screens.

And with everything in technology, the prices on LCDs have dropped to the point where they are very affordable.

Unless you’re a gamer or graphic artist, you will need nothing bigger than a 20 inch LCD from a reputable manufacturer like Dell, HP, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, or ViewSonic.
